About
Architecture begins, for me, with sharpening my senses and looking at what is already there, the ground, a way of building, a craft, the habits and needs of people. From this I develop an abstract spatial idea, which I try to realise as uncompromisingly as possible. Intuition guides me.
I think with my hands. In drawings and in models, in wood, stone, metal, paper and cloth.
Much of this I learned from my teachers: Francesca Torzo, Michaela Türtscher and Claudio Schneider, Jonathan Sergison and Stephen Bates, Andrew Clancy. And from Peter Zumthor, working in his atelier, where I learned about space, material, and thinking a building through in the model.
I studied IT in Berlin, a field I continue to work in, and architecture in Munich and Mendrisio.
